Traps remove the rodents already inside. Exclusion stops the next ones. Our licensed Loudoun County technicians find every gap, seal it with materials rodents cannot chew through and check our work.
Rodent exclusion is the process of finding and closing every opening that lets mice and rats into a building. Mice can squeeze through a gap about the size of a dime, and rats through one the size of a quarter, so many homes have dozens of entry points that are easy to miss.
Without exclusion, even a successful trapping job tends to be followed by a new group of rodents moving in through the same gaps. Sealing the entry points is the longest-lasting way to stop repeat problems, and it protects insulation, wiring and stored items from damage. It also makes a home easier to sell, because rodent entry points often show up in inspections.
Already have rodents inside? See our mice and rat control service.
Rodents can chew through foam, plastic, wood and caulk. We use materials built to last.

Sheet metal covers larger holes and damaged edges at foundations, siding and rooflines.
Masonry and foundation cracks are filled with durable patching, not soft sealants.
Heavy-duty sweeps and bottom seals close the gap under doors and garage doors.
Metal screens and covers keep dryer, crawl space and foundation vents open for air but closed to rodents.
Caps and screens stop mice, squirrels and other animals from entering from the roof.
We check the whole building, from the ground to the roof.
We recommend a plan after the inspection, based on the number and location of entry points and the type of building.
A head-to-toe check of the foundation, siding, roofline, garage, vents, utility lines and crawl space, with every entry point mapped and photographed.
We seal gaps around pipes, cables, AC lines, gas lines and cracks in the foundation with durable, rodent-proof materials.
Garage door seals, door sweeps, vent covers and screens, and weep hole protection to close common ground-level entries.
Soffit, fascia, gable vent and chimney protection to stop climbing rodents getting into the attic.
Droppings or damaged insulation? See our attic and crawl space cleanup.
We remove rodents before sealing, so nothing is trapped inside your walls or attic.
Book an exclusion inspectionWe check the whole building, mark every entry point and explain what we found.
We clear rodents already inside with traps and protected bait stations.
We close every entry point with metal mesh, flashing, mortar and other durable materials.
We check our work and follow up to confirm activity has stopped.
We work across Loudoun County every day, so we know which gaps tend to show up in our neighborhoods.
In Brambleton, Broadlands, Belmont and South Riding, we often find gaps at utility lines, dryer vents, garage doors and rooflines left from construction. Sealing them before fall is a smart upgrade.
Homes backing onto trees, Broad Run or the W&OD Trail have more mice and rats nearby. Ground-level gaps and foundation vents are the priority.
In Ashburn Village, Ashburn Farm and Lansdowne, end units, shared walls and garage doors are common routes. We coordinate with neighbors and HOAs and check exterior rules for visible work.
Sellers can seal rodent entry points before listing, and buyers can ask for a rodent inspection during the transaction. We help with both.
Back doors, dumpster areas and utility openings around One Loudoun and Brambleton Town Center are common entry points. Door sweeps and sealed penetrations help food businesses stay inspection-ready.
Loading docks, roll-up doors and cable and mechanical penetrations in buildings along the Dulles Greenway corridor are common weak spots. We schedule work around your operating hours.
Seal gaps you noticed over winter before rodents breed.
A quiet season to inspect and schedule exclusion work.
The ideal time. Seal before cooling nights send rodents indoors in October.
Rodents are inside. Remove them first, then seal the entry points.
Small jobs are fine to try, but a thorough job usually needs a professional.

Rodent exclusion means finding and sealing every gap, hole and weak spot that mice and rats use to get into a building, using materials they cannot chew through. It is the long-term part of rodent control, alongside removing the rodents already inside.
Trapping removes the rodents that are inside, but if the entry points stay open, new rodents move in. Exclusion closes those routes so the problem does not return.
Yes. If gaps are sealed while rodents are still inside, they can be trapped in walls or the attic, which can cause damage and odor. We remove the rodents first, then seal.
Not on its own. Rodents can chew through expanding foam and many other soft materials, and steel wool can rust. We use metal mesh, flashing, mortar and other durable materials, sometimes with sealant to finish.
It depends on how many entry points there are, how high or hard to reach they are and the materials needed. We give a written quote after an inspection, so you know the price before any work starts.
Many homes take part of a day to a full day, depending on the size of the house and the number of gaps. Larger or more complex buildings can take longer, and we explain the schedule when we quote.
We use materials that blend in where possible, and most sealing is hidden in crawl spaces, vents and utility openings. If you live in an HOA, check the exterior guidelines for any visible changes.
